Like a show, wish there were more playing that sort of thing? Then have a look at our schedule. See your favourite show? Same colour = Same genre. It really is as simple as that.
Not sure what show does what? Then go to our On-Air section above and select 'Shows By Genre'.
We now have eight types of show, from our specialist Dance, Urban, Rock and Indie shows, to our mainstream Primetime, Daytime and Late Night shows. We've even got an Everything Else category for those that don't quite fit the mould.

Congratulations to James Alexander who took the Gold Award for Best Interview at the Student Radio Awards in London on Thursday Night.
His interview with Sue Doughty, the Liberal Democrat candidate for Guildford at this year's general election, the day after she lost to Conservative MP Anne Milton beat off fierce competition, including Andy Vale's interview with Chesney Hawkes, which also made the shortlist in this competition.
Richard Blackburn also received a nomination in the Best Newcomer category.

Well, we've come to the end of another academic year. Shows have come and gone, words have been said and songs have been played.
But just like you, us lot here at GU2 Radio need some time off, so we'll be having a short break, and we'll be back sooner than you think with songs, sings and all things that bling.

We're all off revising, visiting family and eating too much chocolate (we are students as well!), so GU2 is off air for a few weeks.

Since the departure of Josie from the presenting line-up onto pastures new, the search has been on for a new co-host for the show.
There has been a lot of interest and i'm very pleased to announce that on next week's show (1st February 2010), I will be chatting on air to potential new Jukebox hosts! Tune in on Monday from 2-4pm and all will be revealed... Jamie.

GU2 will be off on its Christmas break as of the end of Friday, December 18.
We'll be stuffing ourselves full of turkey, potatoes and sprouts, and will be back in 2010.

Yesterday the Student Radio Awards nominations were announced across the country. This year GU2 managed two shortlistings: The Student Radio Chart Show Award (Phill Nathan, Bex Wood and Andy Vale) and Best Female (Josie Standbrook). Congratulations to all involved, and GU2 will no doubt be dressing up to the nines and rolling out the wagon 'til the wheels fall off.
This year's awards will take place on Thursday, November 5, at the IndigO2 in London.

So our summer schedule is now over. We apologise for any problems you've had navigating the website or listening to our illustrious shows during this time. Please rest assured that the people responsible for these short-comings have been made to sustain mild peril as a consequence.
We can even go one better, and tell you that our new semester schedule begins today (Sept 27) at 10am, with a Freshers' Moving-In Special with Phill Nathan, Matt Clifford and Sarah Horsley, before the indelible Will & Tintin return with their Sunday Night Manifesto at 7pm.
Add to the fact that we will be in the Ikea-Showroom-cum-Wagamama-Restaurant-cum-Industrial-Zone-from-the-Crystal-Maze that is The Living Room (née HRB) on both Saturday (free!) and Sunday (along with Chesney Hawkes), means that whether it's your first night out ever in Guildford, or first night out in what seems like forever in Guildford, GU2 is here for you, every step of the way, like fluffy slippers, just without the washing label digging into your foot.

The GU2 Web department is pleased to announce that the new GU2 Listen Live Player, several months is the making, is now ready for use.
The new player uses a customised Flash interface and will work with almost all modern operating systems and browsers.

As of tomorrow (November 5), GU2 will have three new Breakfast Shows (more information here). Our breakfast team is made up of Barney, Katie, Natasha, Matt and Michael. Our brekkie throng will not only wake you up, but help you get ready for your day from 8am.
Maddy & Karly will be joining the Drivetime team, taking the reigns on Mondays from 4pm as of November 10. For more information click here.
